The preheating steps for the first use of the crucible are as follows: 1. After placing the crucible in the furnace, slowly heat it for two hours until the temperature reaches 200 degrees Celsius to remove moisture.
2. Next, heat the crucible at low power to 600 degrees Celsius after 1.5 hours, then use full heating power to reach 950 degrees Celsius after half an hour, and hold at that temperature for about one hour. This ensures the glaze fully melts, improving its oxidation resistance and maximizing the crucible's lifespan.
3. After reaching 950 degrees Celsius, add material as required.
4. The curve is shown as the green line in the figure.
The preheating steps for reuse are as follows:
1.First, slowly heat the crucible for two hours until the temperature reaches 600 degrees Celsius to remove moisture and ensure the glaze and anti-oxidation coating on the crucible surface fully sinter to prevent oxidation and extend the crucible's lifespan.2. Then continue heating, reaching 950 degrees Celsius after half an hour, and hold at that temperature for about one hour. Then add material as required.3. The curve is shown as the red line in the figure.
Methods for using and maintaining crucibles from Zhongye
*Crucibles should be stored in a warm, dry place.
* Crucibles should not be nested together.
* Crucibles should not be rolled during transport.
* Use a refractory blanket for sealing, leaving expansion gaps on both sides of the crucible.
* In tilting furnaces, use positioning bricks to facilitate thermal expansion of the crucible.
* The flame should be tangential to the crucible wall and surround the crucible.
* Additives should only be added after the metal has melted.
* Ensure the emergency drain hole is sealed during use to prevent premature oxidation and failure of the crucible.
* When lifting the crucible, the clamp should be positioned at 1/3 of the bottom of the crucible, with even force applied on both sides.
* Carefully inspect for cracks and other damage caused during transportation before use.
* The crucible base should be flat, slightly larger than the diameter of the crucible bottom, and must be aligned during installation.
* When adding material, use clamps to handle it gently, avoiding directly throwing the material into the crucible.
* Before removing the crucible from the furnace, the molten metal must be emptied; do not allow the molten metal to solidify inside the crucible.
*The inside of the crucible should be cleaned daily while it is still hot.
*First, add some small pieces of recycled material, then add the ingot vertically into the crucible.
